Kaos Railways and the Italian FS Foundation have announced that, for the second year running, the Scala dei Turchi Express train will run between Palermo and Porto Empedocle on Sunday 28 May, giving those visiting Palermo the chance to discover Sicily onboard a historic train.

The train will depart at 9.40am from the central station of Palermo and will stop at:

  • Bagheria
  • Termini Imerese
  • Roccapalumba
  • Cammarata / San Giovanni Gemini
  • Campofranco
  • Aragon Caldare
  • Agrigento Bassa and
  • Volcano Temple

It is scheduled to then reach Porto Empedocle at 12.05pm, giving passengers the chance to take in charming scenery along the route.

Once in Porto Empedocle you can enjoy a summer treat by taking a bus to Scala dei Turchi, where you can swim in the crystal waters of the sea or simply sit back and take in glorious coastal scenes, perhaps while enjoying a creamy Sicilian gelato!
